My interest in art began at a very early age as my mother was an art teacher. I went to art shows with her and sold my first painting at an art show in Pisgah, Alabama when I was 16 years old. I still have the receipt for that very first sale. I graduated from Auburn University in 1973 with a BS degree and later graduated from The Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nuclear Medicine Technology in Atlanta,GA.
